there is no greater work than that of raising our kids.
There are few things in life in which we can make as great of an impact as we can being parents. Imagine the kind of world you want your children and your grandchildren to live in. Think of the adults you want them to be, how you want them to treat others, how you want them to be treated by others.
It all starts with you.
Now, let’s get real: This truth can feel terrifying. It did for me.
When my oldest was born, I decided to stay home full time. Three years later, I had a toddler and a newborn, my anxiety had reached an all-time high (thanks to postpartum depression and COVID lockdowns), and I felt like I was failing at motherhood. I knew I was doing important work, I knew the kind of parent I wanted to be — yet, I felt completely lost and frustrated.
I spent years reading books, enrolling in parenting courses and workshops, and taking notes from parenting influencers on social media. I would find advice that aligned with my values, but no matter how hard I tried, nothing stuck. I felt like I was spinning my wheels.
I decided to give it one more go. We had just moved to a new city, and I started looking for a local parenting group I could join. Instead, I found a parent coach, and it changed my life in ways I never could have expected. And I finally realized why everything else I had tried hadn’t worked:
The parenting experts you find online know a lot about parenting — but they know nothing about your family.
Instead of receiving generic advice or “hacks,” I learned parenting strategies that were tailored to my family and what we were going through. I learned the “why” behind my children’s behavior, and the “why” behind my reactions to their behaviors. Ultimately, I learned how to connect with and interact with my kids in a more effective way.
I have had the privilege of working both with a parent coach and as a coach myself with families across the country. I have seen what this work has done for my own family, and in the lives of the families I’ve worked with, and I’m here to tell you that — no matter how hard parenting feels right now — there is hope for every family. I would love to talk with you about how I can help.
