Do I need a parent coach?
The short answer: If you are a parent, you can benefit from working with a parent coach! Here are some common behaviors or issues that I have helped families with:
Physical aggression: hitting, biting, pinching, kicking
Disrespectful/rude behavior
Lack of cooperation/listening
Tantrums and meltdowns
Battles over screen time, mealtimes, bedtimes, etc.
Setting and sticking to boundaries
Strategies for neurodivergent and/or highly sensitive kids
Most parents will also acknowledge that it’s not only their child’s behavior they want to change — they want to change their own behaviors as well. No one wants to yell at their child, or get to a place where they feel their only option is to offer a bribe or a harsh punishment. If you want to be a more confident, consistent and calm parent, coaching will give you the tools to get there.
What Can I Expect from Coaching?
-
Identify issues
Our initial session will be dedicated to assessing how parenting is currently going, how you’d like parenting to feel, and family challenges to address. For local parents, I offer the option of coming to your home to see your issues “in action.”
-
Learn the Tools
We will meet weekly, via video calls or in person (for local clients), and each session will be tailored to your specific concerns. During coaching calls, you will also learn fundamental parenting principles for life — whether your child is two, ten, or twenty.
-
Implement & Grow
Every week, you will be given actionable tools to implement with your family. You will also be able to check in and ask questions via a messaging app. No two families are alike, and we’ll figure out what works (and what doesn’t) for yours.
